SEPTEMBER 2025 / UGANDA / VISIT TO 2ND WATER TANK

With David as our guide, we visited the 2nd and 3rd water tanks, as well as the school. He shared a lot with us about the area, the local community, and the importance of the water tanks and the school. The 2nd water tank is located at Mawogola Gardens — a community center and garden that's actively used by people from the surrounding villages.

SEPTEMBER 2025 / UGANDA / TREE PLANTING

William and Gillian had the great idea to plant a tree at each completed project. A beautiful symbolic gesture — and a practical one too.

SEPTEMBER 2025 / UGANDA / VISIT TO WATER TANK 1

During a visit to Uganda by two members of the Jawiba Foundation board, the first stop was the completed water tank in northern Uganda. We were shown around by Gillian, and we were really impressed by her dedication and commitment to the community. The water tank looked great and is actively being used by the 168 families in the area. Her passion for protecting the natural environment and the trees, along with her efforts to educate the community about growing and using fruits and vegetables, was truly inspiring. Thank you, Gillian!

SEPTEMBER 2025 / UGANDA / CHILDREN’S CLOTHING DONATED BY “DE CIRKEL” (HARDINXVELD)

Store De Cirkel in Hardinxveld-Giessendam donated a suitcase packed full of children’s clothes to the Jawiba Foundation for Uganda. During a visit by two of our board members to see the projects we’ve helped build there, the clothing was handed out. It turned out to be a really special experience. Our Ugandan friend William took the lead. He asked a few kids to spread the word in the village that there were clothes to give away. It was late in the afternoon because during the day, many children are busy helping their parents. There was no school that week—it’s vacation time for them. It didn’t take long before a group of kids showed up. Each of them received one piece of clothing, and some got a few extras to take home for their little brothers or sisters. Most of them ran straight home to show what they’d gotten—so getting them on camera was quite a challenge! One little boy put on his new shirt right away and kept rubbing the front of it because he loved the picture so much. As William handed out the last piece of clothing, he said: “You’ve just made memories that will last for the next ten years.” That beautiful compliment goes straight to store De Cirkel. Thank you!
