October 2024 / Uganda / Watertank Finished

Over the weekend the site of the watertank was visited by the project manager. Everything was finished and in good order like requested. 2 days ago it started raining and hopefully after a 3rd rain they’ll be able to start using the tank! Many thanks to the project manager for all the time, effort and personal financial support he has put in this project.

October 2023 / Uganda / Start School Project

Our friend in Uganda saw this school in a poor state. Kids study under trees because only a few classrooms are available and these are built with mud only so during the rain seasons kids have no classes because the classrooms are not watertight. We decided to help them by putting up a 2 classrooms.

December 2022 / Namibia / Little Bugs Newsletter

Another year, another goodbye. This year, we are saying goodbye to three of our bugs as they embark on their upper primary journey. On their special leavers’ outdoor retreat, they shared their thoughts on the future. Marcino is excited to be near his brothers who are already in “big school” but is nervous because he is not sure the teachers and children are as kind there as they are here. Gabriel is excited to go to upper primary because there are many different sports to do. Jedidja can’t wait to do more “serious” science- he hopes to be a doctor one day. Boys, we hate to see you go but are thrilled as we think of all the different ways you will use your Little Bugs education! Congratulations to Nekomba, Nancy, Ndapewa, and Tomas who also embark on a new adventure as they graduate from Pre-primary into Grade 1. Little Bugs (www.litle-bugs.org) (also sponsored by the Jawiba Foundation) is a free Early Childhood Development Centre and lower primary school, set up by the Namib Sky Foundation, located near Sossusvlei and the Namib Tsaris Conservancy in south-central Namibia. With tourism on the rise, the local community is rapidly growing and there is an expanding need for education and other services. Little Bugs is focused on providing free, quality education and a well-balanced nutrition plan to previously disadvantaged children of preschool and lower primary.
